You don't need dining reservations, priority or otherwise, if you've opted into Your Time open-seating dining and don't plan to splurge on specialty restaurants.

The price starts at $49.95 USD for short cruises of 3-4 days up to $99.95 USD for 8-day cruises. Longer cruises of days called carnival journeys don’t have this package. On most cruise lines, the only way to get priority status that lets you skip the long lines is by achieving a high level in the company’s loyalty program.
The best time to get this package is when you are booking your cruise. The FTTF can only be bought pre-cruise and is not offered for purchase during the voyage. The longer you wait to get it the harder the odds of getting it becomes.

The new Carnival Loyalty Program is a five-tier Past Passenger cruise loyalty program (aka Past Guest recognition program) with benefits according to the number of the Carnival VIFP points you've earned. The main difference between the old program and the new VIFP Club is that the new one is based on the number of days you've sailed with Carnival, rather than the number of voyages.
