Cut the Graham Crackers

Finally, it’s time to flip the houses over and apply icing to the tops and the remaining sides. You can glue crackers to the roof if desired, but I love the look of the roof covered in icing and sprinkles so I skipped this step. Store in airtight container or enjoy after everyone has a chance to ooo and aw over them. Then begin pressing together the pieces of graham cracker. You can either lay the back of the house flat while you do this or hold it together with your fingers and press together.

I created a no-prep gingerbread page to go with this activity. You do not have to use it, but it works well as an extension activity. I like to be over-prepared, especially the day before a long break. Overly excited children and down-time do not mix. So this page works as a great time-filler if you find yourself with some extra time or you have students that finish early. I had multiple houses fall apart but since it's just graham crackers it's really easy to put back together or start over. This one is easy, just cutting off an inch on one end of the graham cracker.
